On Oct. 28, around 7:30 p.m., UIC Police responded to a report of a strong-armed robbery that occurred near 1040 W. Harrison St. Two UIC students reported that they were walking eastbound on W. Harrison St. near S. Morgan St. when they were approached by an older model red SUV. The passenger asked the students for gas money and the male student complied. The passenger then asked the female student if she had money and the student refused. The driver then exited the vehicle, shoved the female student to the ground and took cash from her wallet. The offender got back into the vehicle and fled westbound on W. Harrison St., and then northbound on S. Racine Ave. The students were not injured and no weapons were seen or implied.
The first offender (the passenger) is described as a white petite female holding a small Chihuahua dog. The second offender (the driver of the vehicle) is described as a white, heavier female approximately late 20s to early 30s in age.

On Friday, Oct. 20, at approximately 11:15 p.m., a female victim flagged down a UIC Police officer and reported that two male offenders approached her and attempted to take her purse at 900 W. Maxwell St. The offenders, who were unsuccessful in their attempted theft, fled on foot westbound and into the Barbara Jean Wright Court Apartments. The first offender is described as a black male teenager, 6-0 in height and wearing a black hoodie. The second offender is described as a black male teenager, 6-0 in height, wearing all dark clothing.

On Thursday, Oct. 20, at approximately 7:45 p.m., an attempted strong-armed robbery occurred near 1725 W. Fillmore St. The victim, who is not affiliated with UIC, was walking on the street between parking structure D1 and the Outpatient Care Center when he was approached by two offenders who attempted to rob him before fleeing the area. The victim reported the incident to the parking attendant as he exited the parking structure and then left the area. The victim later reported the incident to CPD and then to UIC Police. The first offender is described as a black male wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. The second offender is described as a black male wearing a white shirt and white sweatpants. The victim was not injured.
