·        Designed family literacy programs that serve over 1,000 families per year at four Family Start Learning Centers in Chicago.

·        Established the Chicago Center for Early Education, a resource center for parents and professionals that serves over 5,000 patrons annually.

·        Publish Parental News: Stepping Into The Future, a newsletter distributed to Head Start and Child Care families across Chicago (15,000 copies in English and 10,000 copies in Spanish).

·        Manage highly successful National Service Programs funded by the Illinois Commission on Community Service and the Corporation for National Service.

·        Elected to the Board of Directors, Literacy Volunteers of America, IL (1999-2001).

·        Named a consulting faculty sponsor for Interdisciplinary Primary Health Care Research (UIC College of Nursing, 1999).

·        Sponsored the Great Lakes Head Start Quality Network Annual Research Conference (1999, 2000, 2001).

·        Co-sponsor two annual statewide literacy conferences: On the Road to Literacy and Literacy Volunteers of America State Conference (1998-present).

·        Hosted Adult Literacy and Technology Annual Conference, Showcase of Adult Literacy Technology, 1996.

·        Member, Early Childhood Development and Health Services Advisory Committee, 1997-present.
