Master the art and science of grant writing for academic research through this moderated online seminar focused on methods for developing a competitive academic research grant application.
Participants will review the basic steps of writing a successful research grant proposal and learning successful approaches through a variety of resources and tools. Through peer review and hands-on writing exercises, you will learn about current trends and issues in grant writing as well as how to apply best practices to your own grant writing experiences.
This seminar will accommodate anyone interested in enhancing their skills in academic grant writing. Participants who are seeking funding for the first time will benefit from learning successful approaches and strategies for developing the research grant application, while participants who have experience writing grants can sharpen their skills and learn more about current trends.
Learn from academicians and scientists at other educational institutions, as you dialogue collectively with our guest presenters and other colleagues on a password-protected site. Topics will include but are not limited to:

Online learning offers the convenience you need to make professional development a part of your busy life. Our virtual classroom operates on an "asynchronous" basis, rather than a fixed time. You can log on to the seminar web site when it fits your schedule: at six in the morning, your lunch hour, or midnight.
A Research Project Grant supports a focused research program conducted by a principal investigator. Register if you are looking to gain a better understanding of the grant and contract application process when applying for either foundation or governmental sources of funding. Participants should expect to commit between 6 to 10 hours per week to course activities. (Time commitment may vary depending on prior experience, writing skills, and computer proficiency.)
