Diplomas and Apostilles
All graduates of the University will receive a diploma for each degree earned. Only one diploma per degree, per student will be provided.
If you have a question that is not answered on this page, we have provided a FAQ page for your convenience.
Diplomas are mailed to a student's Diploma Address. Failure to create a Diploma Address in Student Self Service could delay the receipt of your diploma. Please check and update your Diploma Address using Student Self Service before leaving the University. Diplomas are sent by first-class mail approximately 2-4 months after the date of award. All University of Illinois diplomas are 8.5 x 11 inches.
You may check the status of your order if you have graduated and are expecting or have ordered a diploma.
(Please note: for degrees earned prior to Fall 2004 Social Security number is requested, Fall 2004 and after the University Identification number is required.)
If you wish to order an additional copy of your diploma, you may do so for a $30.00 charge per diploma ordered. There is no charge for a diploma when it is first issued. Duplicate diplomas bear the signatures of current University officials.

*It is imperative that you verify the specific documents and authentication required by the receiving country. More information regarding authentication of American academic credentials for use abroad is available at the U.S. Department of State website . For those countries that do not recognize the Hague Convention or that do not accept the apostille, the U.S. Department of State has an Office of Authentications which can provide a federal authentication. Please note: if federal authentication is required, you must be sure to request the documents be returned to you, in order for you to complete the process.
